Memories of the magical times of analog photography. Chilean Pioneers

reproduce verbatim note sent by a friend and classmate Advertising career State Technical University Chile.UTE:
BELLA PHOTOGRAPHY VINTAGE WHITE BLACK AND
Amigo Ricardo:

would like to share and remember those days (1972) in which students of Advertising UTE beginning to venture into photography with some knowledge acquired in our classes photographic practice made in the Agfa-Gevaert with Don Julio Astudillo Lindermayer. We took some pictures

a very basic camera (up to a brand served AMIGA) and when we got the last table available on the roll, it rebobinábamos, then in a dark room or covered camera roll film drew to carry reveal.

This process, the development was done in a fully darkened room and I remember I had to wind the film on a reel and place it inside a metal drum containing film developer, was shaken continuously, then washed with water and hung to dry taken from one end with pliers and vertically. Once dried, it was suitable to be placed in an enlarger and projecting the image onto paper.

Actually, it was really exciting when a photo paper in a tank stirred with liquid developer and turning with a metal clamp was beginning to show the image of the picture you had taken yourself, then were moving to another bucket containing liquid fixative (let the developer cut the action), then the sink with water, then hang to dry.

The gazed with pride, were our own photographs, they reveal that before us filled with uncertainty, if you would work out, or if they were too dark, or if you have watched, or if it would be nice framing, etc.

remember when at home improvising a basic laboratory in the bathroom (and should be once everyone went to bed). We changed the standard bulb for a red, which served as a filter, we placed our small buckets and a small enlarger, usually bought from people who produced or got them on loan. We stayed working

our photos until the wee hours of the morning, it was all this wonderful hobby that we had caught or get a good grade on a brochure or design and why not also look good with a little friend who appeared in some of the photos.

Congratulations on your Blog:
